UNISA Law Clinic has celebrated the admission of Tebatso Letsepe Gololo as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa, describing the milestone as a powerful reflection of dedication, discipline and professional growth.

Gololo previously served as a Candidate Legal Practitioner at the Clinic, where he completed his period of practical vocational training. His journey to admission was supported at every stage by structured supervision, mentorship and institutional guidance, culminating in a successful appearance before court.

Support behind the admission

The admission application was formally moved by the Clinic’s in-house advocate, Advocate Happy Nkabinde, whose guidance ensured that all procedural requirements were properly addressed. The Clinic credited this support as a meaningful contribution to Gololo’s successful admission.

Gololo completed his practical vocational training under the supervision of Principal Attorney Shaida Mahomed. Her mentorship, oversight and professional guidance were instrumental in preparing him for independent legal practice. Through direct exposure to client matters, ethical obligations and court processes, Gololo developed the competence and confidence required for admission.

Commitment to access to justice

The UNISA Law Clinic says it has consistently positioned itself as a training ground for future legal practitioners committed to public service and access to justice. Gololo’s admission represents more than an individual achievement. It reflects the Clinic’s ongoing role in shaping professionals who are grounded in ethical responsibility and community service.

"By combining practical legal training with supervision and accountability, the Clinic continues to produce attorneys who are ready to serve the broader legal community with integrity and excellence," read a statement from the Unisa Law Clinic.

Gololo now embarks on the next chapter of his legal career as a duly admitted attorney. The UNISA Law Clinic has expressed confidence that he will uphold the values instilled during his training and contribute meaningfully to the profession.
