Pastor Ursula Nobulali Fikelepi is making waves in both the literary and spiritual communities with her newly self-published book, Accepted in the Beloved.

This compelling work, rooted in themes of God's grace and mercy amidst the challenges of rejection, showcases not just her literary talents, but also her deep faith and personal resilience.

Born in East London, Fikelepi's journey from a curious child immersed in her father's bookstore to a support pastor at Grace Bible Church in Centurion highlights her lifelong commitment to growth and learning. “I started reading books as soon as I learned how to read, around 5 years old. I clearly remember lying on the carpet at the back of my dad’s store, immersed in storybooks,” she recalls, fondly remembering her early love of literature fostered by her parents' encouragement.

Fikelepi enjoys reading, jogging, baking, cooking, music and travelling and is currently studying for a PhD in Bible Exposition. In addition to her pastoral role, Fikelepi is an admitted attorney based in Johannesburg and runs her own legal consultancy.

Her multifaceted career enriches her writing, and her book serves as a reflection of her experiences both personally and professionally. Accepted in the Beloved is much more than a collection of anecdotes; it offers a powerful examination of how the spirit of rejection can impact lives, while providing practical strategies for overcoming such adversities.

Fikelepi cites a myriad of influential authors, including Toni Morrison and Zadie Smith, as inspirations in her own narrative journey. Their literary works, combined with essential Christian literature such as the Bible, have deeply affected her perspective and infused her writing with depth and authenticity. “Because the book is my testimony, I based a lot of it on personal experience,” she explains, highlighting her intention to create a relatable and impactful read.

Published on 31 October 2024 through her company, Poeima Publishing, the book is available on Amazon in both Kindle and paperback formats. South African readers can order the book directly from Fikelepi via ursula@emmausholdings.co.za.

Readers can anticipate a deep dive into the scriptures as Fikelepi meticulously researched key biblical texts, emphasising Ephesians 1:6 (So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son) to convey the assured acceptance believers have through Christ.

What sets Fikelepi apart is her unique writing process, where she combines her legal analytical skills with divine inspiration. “Once a person recognises they are accepted in Christ, they can implement the tools necessary to overcome any form of rejection,” she asserts, inviting readers to embark on an introspective journey of faith, hope, and healing.

Reflecting on her growth as a writer, Fikelepi reveals that her participation in a Christian mentoring programme was pivotal. It propelled her to activate her gifts, including writing, and rely on the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Instances of writer's block did not deter her; instead, a women’s retreat in January 2024 reignited her creativity, culminating in the completion of her manuscript by July of the same year.

In a world often drowning in noise and superficial narratives, Fikelepi’s message rings particularly significant. Her book underscores the idea that acceptance is a continuous journey that invites believers to explore the depths of their relationship with God. “Salvation is not just a singular event; it’s an ongoing journey of growth and restoration,” she affirms, encouraging readers to embrace their spiritual paths wholeheartedly.

As she looks to the future, Fikelepi plans not only to share her literary work but also to facilitate seminars and discussions around its themes. Her empowering message resonates beyond the page, offering a vital reminder of the redemptive power of acceptance and the importance of embracing one’s divinely guided journey.

Accepted in the Beloved is a transformative exploration of healing, acceptance, and faith that encourages readers to confront rejection and rediscover their divine purpose.
