When a newborn baby was discovered abandoned in the biting cold of Sebokeng’s Zone 14 on the morning of 10 June 2025, heartbreak turned into hope.
Local resident Dannyboy Isaac Seabi. Seabi, who was among the first to reach the scene, shared a heartfelt appeal on social media that quickly went viral. “The child now has basically everything a newborn needs,” Seabi said, touched by the overwhelming response. “We eventually had to politely turn down donations; it was that incredible.”
The baby, described as “a very handsome young man,” remains in hospital and doing well. Although his parents remain unidentified, social workers are ready to step in and provide long-term care once he is discharged.
