The late Advocate Ndaba remembered as a humble, driven and principled legal mind

  • A respected advocate remembered for stepping forward to assist when he believed treatment was unfair.
  • Colleagues recall his humility, sharp legal opinions and passion for business and growth.
  • His passing leaves a deep void across the legal profession and among friends and family.

We have lost one of our own. One of our own has gone to be with the Lord. In God we shall come, in God we shall depart.

I met Advocate Ndaba during a case of Prophet Mboro Paseka Motsoeneng. He came in with a willing heart to assist, as he felt that the treatment the pastor received was unfair.

I came to know him as a humble man, very opinionated in relation to the legal profession. He had regard for several senior counsels, and he would often consult as we discussed matters.

He would often talk about business. He was very passionate about business. He would advise me to venture into some business opportunities. I would often tell him how overworked I was at the moment.

I regarded him highly. I would phone him from time to time, and he would discuss a lot of corporate and commercial cases he worked on. I enjoyed his energy, his ambitious dreams, and his desire to grow in the legal profession.

He often referred to me as senior counsel. He would ask me from time to time to move out of Pretoria and base myself in Johannesburg. He made me join some discussions on the formation of one chamber around Midrand, near the Mall of Africa. I still did not move out of Pretoria, and he was disappointed.

A life of service and ambition

We have lost a young, vibrant, energetic and intelligent lawyer. We thank God for a moment to share space and time with him. He was one of our own. He was us, and we were him.

His presence in professional spaces was never loud or boastful, yet it was always felt. He carried conviction, clarity and a quiet confidence. He believed in building, in expanding horizons, and in helping others find their footing in the profession. Conversations with him were never small. They were about cases, ideas, chambers, business and the future.

Comfort in faith and memory

In conclusion, we say condolences to colleagues, family and friends. May God comfort and console you during trying times such as this. We pray for your strength and courage to pass through these perilous and precarious times.

Life has taught and trained us to know that no one is immune from the atrocities and vicissitudes of life. These trials and tribulations follow our being. Death is like a shadow. It travels with us daily.

May our brother’s soul rest in peace.
